Spring

As I am sitting here overlooking the bay area, I am filled with joy. Spring has clearly started to bloom in this area of the world.
Springtime always seems to remind me that God is here. Spring reminds me of the good and the new instead of the dark and glumy that winter tends to bring. This spring especially, I have a lot to be thankful for and to look forward to. This past fall and winter was a tough one for me. I did a lot of shedding off the old and embrasing the new. So, along with the earth, I too am coming into new life. Things look bright and I feel joyful.

Easter Day

The Easter bunny came!

The Easter baskets I prepared

From Lauma:

From Eriks:
You all don't know how special this really is

After Easter baskets, we had a big breakfast. The rest of the day, we have just been vegging! It has been a nice and relaxing day!

Happy Resurrection Day! aka Easter

Take time out of this fun holiday to thank our creator and savior. He is the reason for the holiday. Because of his love, Jesus came and died for our sins. When all hope was gone, he lived again. I am so thankful for my second birth and the ability to live forever with him. Not only has he blessed me with the gift of eternal life (something that I did not deserve), but he has blessed me with a life and a family that I could not be happier with! Thank you Lord for all of the blessings in my life, the big and the small! I love you with all I am. I am proud to say you are my God!

Latvian Egg Coloring

So, the day before Easter we had an egg coloring party. We don't color eggs any old way, oh no! We color them the Latvian way! Basically, everyone goes trekking out into the forest and finds flowers, leaves, grasses ect. and brings them back to the house. Everyone dumps their treasures in the middle of the table and the fun begins! You take an egg and wrap in in the vegetation of your choice. Then you wrap that in onion skins. Then... You wrap that in cheese cloth and tie it all up. After that you boil the eggs in onion skins. Look at the process and how they turned out:

Aside from coloring eggs, we also had an amazing lunch of traditional Latvian food. Lauma did an amazing job of decorating for the occasion:

My New Job

So as some of you may know, and most of you may not know. I have a wonderful new job! I am so thrilled! I work at the front desk at the San Mateo Athletic Club located at the College of San Mateo. It is a very low stress job, which is exactly what I need at this point in my life. What I do is welcome people when they come in, scan their card and then let them into the facility. I am basically getting paid to make friends and talk to them. What a perfect job for me right!? The past week and a half, all I have been doing is working. There was so much to get done before the club opened. (Did I mention that I helped open the club and that I was literally 1 of 3 people to be the first to work at the club :) ) I was there all day, every day helping. The club is really amazing! Everything is really high tech and the cardio machines are awesome! I have a perfect schedule! I work Monday through Friday from 5am to either 9am 10am or 1pm. It is really early, but my body is getting use to it!
