Jobby Stuff

I just wanted to let you all know what is going on with the job hunt. In total, I have applied for almost 90 different jobs. Wow! But exciting news! I have 3 interviews set up (and I am almost positive I will get one at Banana Republic too). I have one today at 1pm for a gym to be the front desk person, and two Tuesday. I have an interview at 8:15am for a really popular local restaurant called Stacks and also at 1:45pm for Ross. So... we will see what happens. I will let everyone know what happens as soon as I know! Wish me luck!

Eriks Suprise Party!

So, Lauma, Indra and I planned a surprise party for Eriks. And to me surprise, we actually surprised him! Last Sunday I told him that I wanted to take him out for breakfast. I had to have him out of the house from 11am to 1pm so that Lauma and Indra could set up and so that everyone could arrive. Well after breakfast, Eriks wanted to go home. I had to make up fake errands that I had to run. It was really funny because Eriks was so grumpy because he just wanted to go home. I felt bed cuz he just thought I was making him go do all of these stupid things like go to Joanne Fabrics and such. TEHE. Finally when we pull into the driveway he said "What are all of these people here for?" I was trying so hard to keep a straight face. I just replied "I don't know, your mom must have invited some people over for lunch." As we got out of the car he still didn't know what was going on until we got up the driveway. When he finally saw all of the BSU and Great Job Graduate signs that he put it all together. He turned to me and said "I hate you!" I just busted up laughing. It was a really great party. We had great food and a lot of fun!

School

So... the past couple of days, Eriks and I have been doing a lot of school shopping. I want to go to either San Jose State or Berkley to get my BA in Anthropology. To get to that point, I will need to take some classes at a local Community College (Foothill). To get into either one, I need a few more credits. If all of my credits transfer (not likely) I will need to take 13 credits from Foothill. Most likely I will need to take 2 semesters at Foothill. I will be able to get into San Jose State, but I am going to work really hard to get my GPA a little higher so that I can try to get into Berkley for my BA. My goal is to graduate in spring 2012 so that I can start my Masters at San Jose State in fall 2012. The program only opens up during the even years in the fall. So, if I don't get in then, I will have to wait until 2014 which I really don't what to do. But yeah. The Masters program in 4 semesters so hopefully I will have my MA when I turn 27. I will keep you updated in the next month or so to update you as more definitive plans come into play.

Our Valentines Day

This year's Valentines Day was fantastic. Earlier this week, I got a package from my wonderful family! I was really excited! Today, just topped it off. When we (Eriks and I) woke up and went upstairs, we found these adorable little guys waiting for us:

Lauma made our presents look like little people. Eriks' was cookies and mine was raspberry jam (kinda an inside joke). We also both got a little bag of candy to go along with our Valentines people. And much to her surprise, Eriks and I had put together a Valentines surprise too!
She was really excited! Then after opening presents, I made breakfast. I made flower, lips, X, O and heart pancakes. I wish I would have taken a picture but all 3 of us were just so excited to eat. After breakfast, Eriks and I went to the beach. It was so much fun! We just laid and soaked up the sun while cuddling in the sand. I played in the waves a little and took some pictures as well. I cannot express what a wonderful day it was! I hope all of you had just as wonderful of a day as I did!

So... I no longer have a job. I had coffee grounds tossed into my face and I had an allergic reaction. Because of that I was fired. Not so much fun especially when I didn't do anything wrong. But hay, whatcha gonna do about it. So... I applied for 9 jobs today and will just keep plugging away. I will let you know if I get any interviews.

Sea Glass By Liz

I have finally got my business up and running. I have just started making sea glass jewelry. I have just created an account at http://www.etsy.com/shop/SeaGlassbyLiz . You should all check it out. I will be putting more pieces up, some made with sterling silver wire and some made with the colored copper wire. I am really looking forward to getting my business up and going!

New Job!

So... in case you haven't heard, I have a job! I am working at ZAO Noodle Bar in downtown Palo Alto as a waitress. I absolutely love it! I am getting at least 5 shifts a week and am making really good money. The people I work with are really cool and very welcoming. I can honestly say that I LOVE going to work every day. The location is very small, but very cool. It has a very chill feeling which makes working there very non stressful, unlike any other job I have ever had. California has been very good for me. The website for ZAO Noodle Bar is http://www.zao.com in case you want to check it out.
