Our Attempted Trip to Boise

What a weekend!  Here was the original plan: Leave Thursday night, drive all night (about 10 hours), arrive in Boise Friday morning, sleep, go to lunch with my parents, drive up to Stanley, spend the night in Stanley, drive up to Sun Valley and spend the whole day with Falon and Andrew who were having a joint Bachelor and Bachelorette party, drive to Boise that night, sleep at my parents, get our bikes and then drive back Sunday so that we could both go to work on Monday morning.  Well... that was the plan.  This is a picture of us at step 1 of the process:

We left our house at about 7pm so that we would avoid traffic.  This is where our original plan ended.  After about 8 hours of driving (remember I said it usually takes about 10 hours for the whole trip...) we were only in Reno.  We had to make a decision.  Keep driving and not sleep until Friday night in Stanley (completely unrealistic) or stop our journey there.
We decided on the latter.  There was no way we could continue.  So, Eriks and I got a room in Circus Circus and stayed the night there.  Friday actually turned out to be really fun!  Don't get me wrong, I was really disappointed to miss Falon and Andrew's party, but we made the best of the situation at hand.
Friday morning, Eriks and I allowed ourselves to sleep in.  When we finally got up, we went downstairs to get some breakfast.  On our way to get food, I had to get a picture with my favorite statue!

For breakfast, we both got our favorite; I got a Belgian waffle and Eriks got Eggs Benedict.  Yum Yum!  After breakfast, we went to the Circus part of the casino.  It was so much fun!  Eriks and I payed a lot of games and won lots of prizes!  I even beat him in one of the games!  I was really excited.  After paying all of the carnival games we could, we went and played roulette.  We had the best dealer.  She was a little Asian lady and was so funny!  I was loosing, so I decided to put a bet on both black and red so that no  matter what, I would still feel like a winner.  Silly I know but we were just having fun.  Well wouldn't you know it, it landed on green which almost never happens!  Our dealer thought it was so funny!  She couldn't stop laughing which made us laugh.  We all just ended up in tears we were laughing so hard.  Once we lost all of the money, we decided to head on home.
On our way home, we decided to stop in Truckee for lunch.  We had a really relaxing time.  We played on the beach, walked through a small craft fair and had lunch.  We also took some time to drive through the area to day dream about having a cabin there.  We are planning on it, but just not for a couple more years.
We got home in the early evening Friday.  Not what we had planned for the weekend, but fun non the less.
